There is money to be made in working from home. You don’t have to have a full-blown home office cranking out 40 plus hours a week. You just need a peaceful room and some previously attained skills. In this case: music talents. Did you play saxophone in band? Used to play some guitar for a cover band in your youth? Maybe you’re a full-time employee that simply loves music, and has the desire to make some extra cash in your home.
The benefits are amazing; there are lots of ideas for a small business that you can use. Teaching music lessons is a breeze, though. You already have the experience and equipment. All you need are some students and you’re ready to go. You can hang fliers up at your local grocery store or music shop. You can even advertise online at a multitude of websites and message boards.
The pay isn’t bad either. Most guitarists for example, average around $25-40 dollars and hour for private lessons. You can even have a beginner class and instruct a few people at once. That’s three or four people paying you $25-$40 an hour versus one at a time.
Take your time and find some good students. You may find musicians wanting to learn everything from cover songs to complete music theory. Just make sure you’re up to teach whatever is being requested.
